All of the bands that make up the Geelong Concert Band are currently rehearsing for their upcoming Easter Concert to be held on Saturday March 24th at 7pm at Robertson Hall, Geelong College Preparatory School (enter off Minerva Rd). Tickets can be purchased at the door and this concert will see the running of our Easter Raffle – tickets for this can also be purchased on the night.

We hope to see you at our concert!

Future Performances

The Senior Band will be playing at Carols by Candlelight at GMHBA Stadium on Christmas Eve. We hope to see you at the new venue for some Christmas Cheer!

The Senior Band will also be performing a concert with the amazing Tim McCallum on February 9th 2018 at The Pier on Cunningham Pier. This concert will feature the world premier of a new composition “City by the Bay” written about Geelong by Damian Austin and arranged by Graham Lloyd. Along with this, the band will perform many of Tim’s favourite songs. This will be a charity fund raising event, so please put the date in your diary and more details will be published soon.

Term 4 Concert Review

Congratulations to everyone who performed at our Term 4 concert last night. What an outstanding way to finish the year. The Community Band kicked off with some challenging pieces performed to a very high level – well done Kate on your choice of music. This group was followed by the Workshop Band and after only 3 terms of learning, they also performed an exciting program that challenged them along the way. Well done to Jen and Courtney and all of the tutors for all of their hard work with our newest members. The final band to perform was the Senior band who performed their usual challenging program at a very high level – well done to Mark on his choice of program for this concert. Many thanks to all of the members who donated gifts for the Christmas Raffle and congratulations to all of those who won the prizes.

Have a safe and Merry Christmas and we will see you all in 2018!

Concert 3 Wrap Up

Congratulations to all three bands who performed last night at our Term 3 “Spring into Spring” concert. The Community Band kicked off the concert with a solid performance of some technically challenging pieces. They were followed by the Workshop Band who performed three more substantial works after only two terms of learning to play their instruments – the audience were very impressed by their achievement so far. With a few Senior Band members missing, the band was still able to perform their three chosen works to a very high standard. Thanks to all who came along to support the band. Our next concert is on Saturday December 2nd – put this in your diary so you don’t miss out on our finale concert for 2017.
