This year we are restarting our Workshop Band and welcome 43 budding musicians who are all keen to learn to play an instrument from scratch. We still have room for anyone wanting to learn to play flute, clarinet or french horn. Most other instruments are at capacity at present, however if we receive a number of requests for other instruments, we can look into increasing the number of tutors we have. Michael Wilding will be conducting the Workshop Band again in 2015.
The Community Band has almost doubled with the previous Workshop Band members moving up into this group this year. Kevin Cameron will once again be waving the baton for the Community Band in 2015 whilst Katie continues on her maternity leave. Kevin is keen to advance this band over the year and hopes to be able to take them to the State Championships in Ballarat in August.
The Senior Band is back under the direction of Mark Irwin in 2015. This year we have a very balanced band but would like to increase our clarinet section. Some sections are full, but if you are interested in auditioning for the Senior band, please see Trish or email her via the concert band email – firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
All three bands will return to rehearsals at Robertson Hall, Geelong College Prep School, on Friday February 6th at the following times:
Workshop Band 4:30-6:00pm
Community Band 6:00-8:00pm
Senior Band 8:00-10:00pm
Welcome to all of our members and supporters to what we hope will be an excellent year in 2014. The year will resume with rehearsals starting on Friday February 7th at the following times:
Workshop Band – 4:30-6:00pm
Community Band – 6:00 – 8:00pm
