We would like to invite you to attend our Spring Concert on Saturday October 20th at 7pm at Robertson Hall, Geelong College Prep School, enter off Minerva Rd Newtown and drive down to the large car park – Robertson Hall is opposite the car park.
On this evening we will feature our Senior Band, Workshop Band and Community Band. At the conclusion of the concert we will be hosting a supper in the foyer.
Tickets can be purchased at the door on the night – the door opens at 6:30pm – Adults $15, All Concession $10 and primary school children are free.
We look forward to seeing you at our next concert.
Every two years we move our Workshop band members up into our Community band and reform our Workshop band. This means that people who would like to learn an instrument can come along, learn to read music and master the instrument of their choice. No prior experience is needed.
We will be holding an information evening on Wednesday November 21st starting at 6:30pm at Robertson Hall, Geelong College Prep School – enter of Minerva Rd Newtown and take the drive down to the car park – Robertson Hall is the big grey building in front of the car park.
On this evening you will have the opportunity to try out most of the instruments in the band so that you can see if you produce a note on the instrument you would really love to learn. We will be capping the lower age limit at 9 years as we find that those under 9 struggle to concentrate on Friday evenings between 4:30-6:00pm. There is no upper age limit and we have had people in the late 70’s and 80’s come along and learn an instrument.
The new Workshop Band will start from Term 1 2019 and we will advise you of the outcome of your application in advance so that you can organise your instrument. On the night we will explain costs, rehearsals times and dates and will answer any questions you may have. If you have any questions in the mean time, please email Trish at email@example.com.
We look forward to seeing you at our information evening.

Congratulations to everyone who performed at our Term 4 concert last night. What an outstanding way to finish the year. The Community Band kicked off with some challenging pieces performed to a very high level – well done Kate on your choice of music. This group was followed by the Workshop Band and after only 3 terms of learning, they also performed an exciting program that challenged them along the way. Well done to Jen and Courtney and all of the tutors for all of their hard work with our newest members. The final band to perform was the Senior band who performed their usual challenging program at a very high level – well done to Mark on his choice of program for this concert. Many thanks to all of the members who donated gifts for the Christmas Raffle and congratulations to all of those who won the prizes.
Have a safe and Merry Christmas and we will see you all in 2018!
